Wealth Management for Main Street
About Our Founder
Hello, I’m Mathew Dahlberg. I founded Main Street Investments in 2014 with a vision of delivering high-quality yet affordable and unbiased advice to Main Street America. My mission is to see to it that each and every Main Street family, business, and individual has their own professional, personalized wealth manager. I’m a Kansas City native and University of Missouri – Columbia graduate with over a decade of financial services experience. During my undergraduate studies, I spent several years in Europe and returned there after graduation while earning an MBA specializing in Personal Financial Planning. I moved back to Kansas City in 2004 and began a career in investment accounting and asset servicing for institutional investors such as pension funds and mutual funds. I am a former IRS employee and have earned the IRS’ Enrolled Agent designation for tax preparation and expertise and as such, I am admitted to represent clients before the IRS. During my free time, I enjoy running after my children.
Wealth Management Fiduciary in Kansas City
A “fee-only” advisor is one that does not accept commissions for recommending certain investments or financial products. This independence means clients can be certain that our recommendations are based solely on our professional judgment and not on a monetary incentive. This also helps align the advisor’s interests with yours. We calculate our fee based on the number of requested services, the complexity of the relationship, and the size of assets and risk.
We have a fiduciary relationship with every one of our clients in every transaction. A fiduciary is always required to put their client’s interests ahead of their own. As a practical matter, being a fiduciary means that all conflicts of interest between an advisor and client must be disclosed.
What We Believe
Fi·du·ci·ar·y – A fiduciary has a legal duty to act solely in their client’s interests. Fiduciaries may not profit from their relationship with their clients unless they have the client’s express informed consent. A fiduciary duty is the strictest duty of care recognized by the US legal system.
